ਦਸਮ ਪਿਤਾ ਦਾ ਤੀਰ

ਦਸਵੇਂ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਜਾਲਮ ਨੂੰ ਸੋਧਣ ਲਈ ਬਾਬਾ ਬੰਦਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਹਾਦਰ ਨੂੰ ਪੰਜ ਤੀਰ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਪੰਜਾਂ ਸਿੰਘਾਂ ਦੀ ਤਾਬਿਆ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵੱਲ ਨੂੰ ਤੋਰਿਆ। ਦੁਸ਼ਟਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੋਧਦਿਆਂ ਆਖ਼ਰ ਉਹ ਦਿਨ ਆ ਗਿਆ ਜਿਸ ਦਿਨ ਛੋਟੇ ਸਾਹਿਬਜਾਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਵਜ਼ੀਰ ਖਾਨ ਦਾ ਸੋਧਾ ਲੱਗਣਾ ਸੀ। ਚੱਪੜਚਿੜੀ ਦੇ ਮੈਦਾਨ ਚ ਘਮਸਾਨ ਦਾ ਯੁੱਧ ਚੱਲਿਆ ਜਿਸ ਵਿਚ ਦੁਪਹਿਰ ਤਕ ਸਿੰਘ ਭਾਰੂ ਰਹੇ ਪਰ ਵਜ਼ੀਰ ਖਾਨ ਕੋਲ ਬਹੁਤ ਜਿਆਦਾ ਫੌਜ ਤੇ ਜੰਗੀ ਅਮਲਾ-ਫੈਲਾ ਹੋਣ ਕਾਰਨ ਦੁਪਿਹਰੋਂ ਬਾਦ ਜੰਗ ਸਿੰਘਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਹਾਵੀ ਹੋਣ ਲੱਗੀ। ਇਹ ਦੇਖਦਿਆਂ ਬਾਬਾ ਬਾਜ਼ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਬਾਬਾ ਬੰਦਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਜੋ ਇਕ ਉੱਚੀ ਟਿੱਬੀ ਤੋਂ ਜੰਗ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਖ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਹੁਣ ਜੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਜਾਣ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਜੰਗ ਦੁਬਾਰਾ ਸਾਡੇ ਹੱਕ ‘ਚ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇ ਤੇ ਜਾਲਮ ਵਜ਼ੀਰ ਖਾਨ ਦਾ ਸੋਧਾ ਲੱਗ ਸਕੇ। ਬਾਬਾ ਬੰਦਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਅੱਗੇ ਅਰਦਾਸ ਕੀਤੀ ਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਘੋੜੇ ‘ਤੇ ਚੜ ਗਏ। ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰ ਪੰਥ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ‘ਚ ਅੰਕਿਤ ਹੈ ਕਿ 

ਹਸਿ ਬੰਦੇ ਘੋੜੋ ਮੰਗਯੋ ਕਹਿ ਮਾਲਕ ਪਹੁੰਚਯੋ ਆਇ ।

ਮਾਰੋ ਲੇਵੋ ਲੂਟ ਕਹਿ ਦਯੋ ਸੁ ਤੀਰ ਚਲਾਇ ।੩੦।

ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਬਖਸ਼ੇ ਤੀਰਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਇਕ ਤੀਰ ਬਾਬਾ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਚਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਜੰਗ ਦਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਮਹੌਲ ਬਦਲ ਗਿਆ।  ਛੇਤੀ ਹੀ ਸਿੰਘਾਂ ਦੀ ਫਤਿਹ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਜ਼ੀਰ ਖਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਫੜ ਕੇ ਤੇ ਸਰਹਿੰਦ ਲਿਜਾ ਕੇ ਸੋਧ ਦਿੱਤਾ।

Sahib Sri Guru Gobind Singh ji gave five arrows to Baba Banda Singh Bahadur and sent him towards Punjab under the command of Panj Pyare. They gathered other Singhs and fought some battles and finally the day came on which Wazir Khan, who had martyred the Chhote Sahibzade, was to be faced in the battleground. The war was fought in the field of ChapparChiri in which the Singhs were dominant till the afternoon, but due to Wazir Khan having too many troops and canons, the war began to dominate the Singhs. Seeing this, Baba Baaz Singh told Baba Banda Singh ji who was watching everything from a high hill that he should join now so that the battle can be in our favor again. Baba Banda Singh ji prayed to Guru Sahib and mounted his horse. Bhai Ratan Singh Bhangu says in Sri Gur Panth Parkash:

ਹਸਿ ਬੰਦੇ ਘੋੜੋ ਮੰਗਯੋ ਕਹਿ ਮਾਲਕ ਪਹੁੰਚਯੋ ਆਇ ।

ਮਾਰੋ ਲੇਵੋ ਲੂਟ ਕਹਿ ਦਯੋ ਸੁ ਤੀਰ ਚਲਾਇ ।

One of the arrows blessed by Guru Sahib was fired by Baba Ji, which changed the whole course of the battlefield. Soon the Singhs were victorious and they captured Wazir Khan, took him to Sirhind and killed him.
